Orthodontic tooth movements are often accompanied by an achy feeling. This is normal, and is the case whether you’ve chosen clear aligners or braces. This side-effect is most common towards the beginning of treatment, or shortly after adjustments. Most patients report that this is of a minor nature, and is generally manageable. Always let your orthodontist or dentist know if you are experiencing any unusual or unexpected discomfort. In some cases a different cause for discomfort (such as tooth decay) may need to be investigated.
Whilst everyone’s circumstances are different, in our experience we have found that the great majority of cases can be treated effectively with Clear Aligner treatment. This is the case for patients of a wide range of ages, including children, teens and adults.
