Let your smile shine through with Fine Orthodontist Sydney Clear Braces.
Clear braces (sometimes known as ceramic braces) are a great option when you want all the benefits of braces but would prefer a subtle look that blends into your smile.
Clear braces work in a similar way to traditional braces. You can learn all about the basics of braces here:
The main difference between clear and metal braces is aesthetic – clear braces with ceramic brackets are designed to blend in with the shade of your natural teeth.
As a result, your clear braces will be much less noticeable than metal braces.
Clear braces can correct a range of orthodontic issues and can be a great option for the whole family.
The best way to know for sure which treatment option is best for you or a family member is to visit the office for a free assessment and discussion.
You’ll get to view and touch samples of real clear braces.
We’ll assess your bite and smile, and see if clear braces are a great solution for you!
People often wonder – do clear braces take longer?
Skilled, knowledgeable orthodontists can use clear braces to get a great result in a short time frame.
If we were to get really technical, there are some slight differences between clear and metal tooth brackets which – in theory – could mean that traditional metal braces work a tiny bit faster than clear braces.
For most people, a tiny theoretical difference is unlikely to change their mind about opting for clear braces if they prefer the look of them.
The term ‘invisible braces’ is sometimes used to describe clear braces, however, it can also describe clear aligners, another type of treatment that is removable and doesn’t involve fixed braces at all.
You can learn more about braces alternatives below:
Fineline
(Dr Fine’s bespoke clear aligner system)
Are you concerned that your clear braces could stain, or turn yellow? Thankfully, is now mostly an issue of the past. Some types of clear braces rely on a small clear elastic tie (or ‘module‘) to hold the wire into place.
Whilst these elastic modules were changed at each appointment, a vibrant curry or glass of red wine could make the modules appear stained.
Discoloured braces are the last thing you want when you’ve chosen clear braces to showcase a bright, clean look!
As technology has advanced, at Fine Orthodontist Sydney we’ve moved away from clear braces with clear modules. We now use ‘self-ligating’ braces.
Self-ligating braces incorporate a small gate to hold the wire in place, eliminating the need for stain-collecting elastic modules.
You can rest assured that our clear braces will resist stains from coffee, mustard, red wine and other agents.
