Clear Aligners | Invisalign® Maroubra and Bondi Junction

Imagine orthodontic treatment that straightens your teeth discreetly. Without anyone even knowing.

Yes, you too can have that today. Clear aligner or Invisalign® orthodontic treatment, gives our patients a great alternative to traditional braces. Clear aligners for teeth or Invisalign® clear braces are almost magical. They work through a series of removable clear aligners. Each aligner is slightly different to the preceding one. So, your teeth move a little bit further with each new aligner.

We give you several sets of these computer-generated aligners and you generally change them each week (the schedule can vary depending on your orthodontic problem). So, over time, your teeth move gradually into the desired position.

For optimal results, around 22 hours per day of wear is recommended. And, in many instances, certain efficiencies make Invisalign® faster than braces.

People usually choose aligners over traditional braces because:

  • they are less noticeable than metal or even clear braces
  • clear aligners are removable, so flossing is easier
  • they are more comfortable than clear braces, metal braces or lingual braces
  • there are fewer dietary restrictions with aligners
  • aligners require less maintenance and fewer office visits
  • many office visits can be replaced by remote monitoring through your smartphone
  • the aligners can be removed for special occasions

How is Invisalign® Different at Fine Orthodontics?

There are many Invisalign® providers. So, wherever you get your treatment, the aligners are the same. Right? …. Wrong!

The only thing that is the same between different Invisalign® providers is the chemical makeup of the aligners. Otherwise everything is different.

Superior outcomes with Martin Fine Orthodontics

So why choose Fine Orthodontics?

Orthodontic treatments are only as good as the dental professional managing the process. Orthodontic specialists are able to utilise advanced aligner accessories and tooth attachments. These accessories allow for more complex treatments previously only possible with braces. So, an orthodontist is able to use the Invisalign® clear aligner system to its full potential.

Continued innovation in clear aligners has made aligner treatments like Invisalign® far more capable. Many are surprised at what can be done with aligners when compared with conventional braces. Align Technology (Invisalign®) has invested in Research and Development more than all other orthodontic companies combined.

Dr Fine likes to see the benefits of the research passed on to his patients. He has worked closely with Invisalign® since 2001 and also keeps a close watch on new developments on all related smile technology. You can be assured that the latest innovations will be applied to your treatment at Fine Orthodontics.

Dr Martin Fine’s extensive Invisalign® experience enables him to successfully treat most orthodontic problems with aligners. He uses Invisalign® to treat open bites, cross bites, over bites, underbites, impacted teeth and more. See our blog post Can You Fix an Overbite with Invisalign®.

Invisalign® FAQs

Q: Does Invisalign® cost more than braces?

A: At many practices, it does. At Fine Orthodontics we keep the costs very similar, so that patients can choose the option they want without costs getting in the way.

Q: Will Invisalign® widen my smile?

A: Many people have Invisalign® to widen smile. This is something you need to discuss with your orthodontist. A specialist will be able to develop a strategy for your Invisalign® widen smile. (See our Invisalign® widen smile before and after).

Q: Are Invisalign® braces as good as traditional braces?

A: You can get that perfect smile with either. Just like it is not the type of tennis racket that makes a tennis player great - it is the skill of the player. Similarly, the skill of your orthodontist is the important factor.

Q: What are Invisalign® refinements?

A: An Invisalign® refinement is additional set of aligners to fine-tune the result. It is quite common to need these.

Q: Does Invisalign® work for teenagers or younger kids?

A: Yes. Aligners work well in many instances for both teens and kids. There are certain aspects that need to be considered as they may still have erupting teeth to manage. Invisalign® have Invisalign® Teen and Invisalign® First products to use in these situations. (Be sure to check out Invisalign® Sydney – Why Teenagers Prefer Clear Aligners like Invisalign® Braces) and Can Children Use Invisalign®)

Q: What foods do I need to avoid during Invisalign® treatment?

A: Yes. Just very hard foods which could break attachments. Broken attachments may keep your teeth from moving correctly.

Q: How often would I have to see my orthodontist while I’m wearing Invisalign®?

A: The schedule varies between patients. On average, regular office visits during Invisalign® treatment are every 8–12 weeks. Our remote monitoring app, will keep the number of visits down.

Q: Is Invisalign® really invisible?

A: Not really - but they are close to it. For more on this see our post Can You See the Aligners?

Q: How much do Invisalign® cost? How much is Invisalign®?

A: The question of Invisalign® Sydney cost is one that is often asked. There are 2 main factors at play: (1) the complexity of your case (2) the number of aligners required. While these are related, an experienced orthodontist has the skills to keep the number of aligners (and hence the cost) down. So, in 2021, the cost of Invisalign® treatment can vary from $4400 to over $9400 depending upon the problem at hand.

Q: Is Invisalign® worth it?

A: The technology in Invisalign® is hard to beat as their research and development spend is ahead of the others. While you might pay more, it is generally well worth it. Any treatment without clinical supervision is fraught with risk. So, best to avoid any mail order aligners. Do your research on the doctor managing your treatment, which is more important than the brand of aligners you’ll be getting.

Q: Does Invisalign® work for snaggle teeth?

A: Invisalign® is just a tooth-moving tool. In the expert hands of an orthodontist, teeth with all sorts of alignment issues can be treated.

Q: Can I get a free Invisalign® Consultation (Sydney) to find out if Invisalign® is suitable for me?

A: Fine Orthodontics offers free* assessments. Feel free to book a free* Remote or Onsite Assessment at our Maroubra or Bondi Junction office.

Invisalign® is a regulated medical device. Always read the label and follow the instructions for use. Please note that treatment may or may not be suitable for you as each patient has unique individual circumstances.
